2026 St. Brigid of Ireland Humanitarian Award Winner Selected

The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Inc. is proud to announce that Kimberly DePeaux of Altamont, New York, has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 St. Brigid of Ireland Humanitarian Award. Kimberly is a dedicated member of JFK Division #1, Schenectady, New York. This prestigious award will be presented on Irish Night, Friday, July 17, during the Ancient Order of Hibernians and Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians National Convention in Omaha, Nebraska.

In her more than twenty-three years as a member of the LAOH, Kimberly has exemplified the organization’s motto of Friendship, Unity, and Christian Charity. She has consistently stepped forward to organize and lead numerous fundraising efforts that benefit disadvantaged individuals and families throughout her community. Her compassion extends especially to elderly residents, whom she has assisted with transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, pet care needs, and special outings that bring companionship and joy.

Kimberly’s dedication to serving others has had a profound impact on countless lives. She organizes and coordinates collections of essential items for children in crisis and individuals experiencing homelessness, while also leading efforts to prepare and distribute hot meals through grassroots community organizations. Through her example, she inspires her LAOH sisters to join her in these acts of service, multiplying the positive impact of her work.

While the list of Kimberly’s good deeds is extensive, perhaps most remarkable is her humility. She never seeks recognition or praise for her efforts, nor does she expect thanks in return. Her service is given freely, with a genuine desire to help those in need.

Through her selfless dedication, unwavering compassion, and commitment to Christian charity, Kimberly DePeaux truly embodies the spirit of St. Brigid of Ireland, making her a most deserving recipient of the 2026 St. Brigid of Ireland Humanitarian Award.
