JFK, speaking to the Irish Parliament in June of 1963, just five months before that Texas trip, shared this observation of the ties between Ireland and The United States of America: "And so it is that our two nations, divided by distance, have been united by history. The EPIC Museum in Dublin tells the story of the Irish diaspora. In honor of America, the museum developed an exhibit that highlights the role of the Irish in the making of America from our early days to the present. As America commemorates our 250th Anniversary, this exhibition offers a timely opportunity to recognize the contributions made by generations of Irish men and women who have made a profound influence in our county’s history. They helped build and defend our country while preserving the rich traditions of their Irish heritage. The EPIC Museum is collaborating with the Irish Consulates in making this Exhibit available.
