Palm Beach County artisan introduces traditional Irish heirloom spice blends informed by global traditions and time spent in Galway
Coco Fine Foods has announced the expansion of its artisanal pantry line with the debut of a handcrafted Irish
spice blend collection. Developed by culinary creator Catherine Nolan, the new line introduces traditional Irish
seasoning profiles to the U.S. market, focusing on ingredient transparency and historical authenticity.
The small-batch collection features single-ingredient integrity with no fillers, preservatives, or anything
mysterious. “These blends are rooted in traditional Irish flavors,” says Nolan, founder of Coco Fine Foods.
“Between living in Galway and my travels studying spice traditions across the Middle East, North Africa, and
beyond, I’ve deepened my understanding of how spices shaped Irish culinary heritage. I wanted to create spice
blends that bring those authentic traditional flavors to home cooks in the U.S., including native Irish people
living abroad who appreciate the fresh, handcrafted seasoning blends that remind them of home.”
The collection highlights diverse aspects of Irish food culture, featuring selections ranging from the traditional
Irish Mixed Spice Blend used in heritage baking to Irish Spice Bag Seasoning—a blend inspired by the
contemporary Irish-Chinese fast-food staple that has become a cultural fixture across Ireland. Nolan notes,
“The spice bag has become an Instagram sensation, with dedicated accounts and fans worldwide sharing their
love for this viral Irish favorite.”
To mark the release, Coco Fine Foods has published a companion recipe for an Irish Mixed Spice Fruit Pound
Cake. The recipe offers a lighter presentation of traditional Irish baking by incorporating fresh seasonal fruits
and balancing the crumb texture with low-fat Greek yogurt to let the aromatic properties of the heirloom spice
blend shine through.
Nolan, who holds formal French culinary training alongside a background in psychotherapy, approaches spice
formulation through the lens of cultural history and memory. Based in Florida, Coco Fine Foods aligns with the
sustainable slow-food movement, sourcing high-grade heirloom components for its small-batch productions.
