Dr. Mary McAleese to be named Honorary Patron of the Michael Cusack Centre

Former President of Ireland Dr. Mary McAleese will be officially announced as Honorary Patron of the Michael Cusack Heritage Centre, the birthplace of the founder of the GAA and a popular North Clare visitor attraction, on May 1st. Dr. McAleese will depart from the venue at 3.00pm as the inaugural passenger of The Burren Explorer, a new hop-on hop-off shuttle bus service linking towns, villages and visitor attractions throughout North and West Clare.

The event will be attended by Dr. McAleese; the Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council; the Chairs of Clare GAA, Munster GAA, Connacht GAA and Ulster GAA; Clare GAA sponsor Pat O’Donnell; representatives of Clare County Council and the Burren & Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark; studens of Gaelscoil Mhicil Ciosóg and Carron National School; and members of the local community.

The Michael Cusack Heritage Centre is located in Sheshodonnell East, Carron, County Clare michaelcusack.ie
