We were delighted with the culmination of the GAA season with the All-Ireland Finals winner Mayo breaking curses and a 75 year drought by winning the Senior Football Championship just last week.The Mayo Irish are the largest group of Irish in and around Cleveland.

This weekend, the USGAA will throw one of the most competitive, fun and nationwide USGAA National Finals, to determine the 2026 U.S. National Champion in Gaelic Football; Ladies Gaelic Football; Hurling and Camogie. This year, Boston hosts.
Today, The Finals release was … released. Here is a snippet, with the link to read the whole piece, well worth your time, highlighting the USGAA games, including a feature on handball, one of my families favorite sports, and, “one of Ireland’s oldest sporting traditions.”
Dad would have been so delighted to see handball finally be included among the other GAA featured sports, its’ place in Irish history is well-documented.
I think all the Trophies, medals and awards dad won in handball and other sports here in Cleveland may have been a part of the impetus to start Emerald Trophy & Supply – he had inventory right out the gate.

2026 Finals Welcome Address
USGAA Chair Paul Keane:
“Our finals are traditionally the culmination of our Championship season, and this year is no
different. Throughout the Summer, clubs have been playing Divisional Championships or qualifying games in order to reach this weekend. And now we will see close to 100 games take place over a period of about 58 hours, to find out which 20 teams will be crowned 2026 USGAA Champions. …”
“The event in Boston will attract more than 4,000 people, with around half of these attendees made up of players from across 112 teams.”
