A recent poll by Ireland Thinks reveals Sinn Fein leading over the traditional parties in Ireland but not enough for an outright majority in the Dail Eireann. This could pave the way for Sinn Fein to lead a coalition government, possibly alongside Fianna Fail. Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern will receive the Sean MacBride Humanitarian Award, and the Peter Leneghan Entrepreneurial Foundation donated $10,000 to St. Edward High School. Irish-American Artist Dr. Maureen O’Leary is showcasing her work in Westport, and Gerry Quinn of Quinn’s Irish Radio Show received recognition from Mayo County Council. Also, there’s concern regarding the Northern Ireland Troubles (Legacy and Reconciliation) Bill, opposed by many major political parties.
