Killarney is the start and end to The Ring of Kerry. The ring is a 111-mile oval of beauty: mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes, breathtaking, with many inner rings within it. It takes about 3.5 hours to drive it, without stops (prob. won’t happen – way too beautiful). With the ring, are a series of small rings too – if you gotta get lost, this is the place to do it.
Three Lakes
We saw The Three Lakes from above, and later, from sea level. What a difference in The Three Lakes and the valley, from our visit in March to this one in June.
June View

March View
40 Shades of Green in three months …

Com an Chiste
Pron. Coomakista, It is a summit and narrow pass overlooking the Kenmare River in Kerry. We called it Mary’s View until James edumacated us.

Sneem
Sneem (means the knot) Parknasilla Hotel is where Prince Ranier and Princess Grace of Monaco stopped during their six-week honeymoon – with a stunning view over a bay in Iveragh Peninsula. Sneem was divided into Catholic side and Protestant side by a bridge, over the Sneem River, which flows into Kenmare Bay. Sneem knots the two squares village and river together.

Torc Waterfall
Beautiful, unexpected, a little hidden gem and a great selection by James Griffen, our guide and driver.

Sheep Herding Demo w Trainer Tom O’Sullivan
We added the demo at the suggestion of our extraordinary Driver, James Griffen. Always listen to James!
