Meet Sherri Bolcevic: Mining the Past and Present in Lead Generation

Sherri, a doctoral candidate in the history program at Case Western Reserve University, works on generating new leads in advertising, sponsorship and Patrons of our Art donations for iIrish. Her academic background and family heritage offer valuable insights as she explores the realm of lead generation within the organization.

Sherri is a history enthusiast. Her doctoral focus centers on women’s role and accomplishment in early American history, specifically during the Jacksonian era, though her expertise spans multiple historical periods.

Sherri holds a master’s degree with a thesis on women’s roles during the War of 1812, from Bowling Green State University and completed her undergraduate studies at Kent State University.

Born and raised in Northeast Ohio, Sherri has deep roots in the region. However, her connection to Irish culture and history extends across the Atlantic. She shares that her great-great-grandfather was from Ireland and embarked on a journey to the United States, bringing with him the legacy of the Emerald Isle with him for  his family.

Sherri’s journey with iIrish started when she met John O’Brien. This introduction led to her role as a lead generation intern for the newsmagazine. With this position, Sherri is tasked with researching and identifying potential leads on platforms like LinkedIn, a task that she admits she is still learning.

Sherri’s strategy for lead generation involves focusing on identifying businesses related to the evolving landscape of sports betting, festivals, golf, travel and more. She aims to connect with organizations that do business in iIrish’s readership area, or want to attract those readers to their business, whether the business or the customer is Irish or not.

The second approach involves researching and reaching out to potential partners in states where iIrish could extend its reach. Sherri begins this journey with a focus on Virginia, a state with a significant Irish heritage and potential partnership opportunities.

She also explores connections with the Civil War community, specifically those interested in the Irish Brigade, as she recognizes the potential for collaborations in this area. Buffalo, Detroit and Indianapolis are expansion target areas as iIrish continues to grow.

Although Sherri acknowledges that this role is different from her usual career-oriented tasks, she sees the value in bridging the gap between history and lead generation. She appreciates the opportunity to contribute her research skills and provide valuable information to those who can use it effectively.

With her unique blend of historical knowledge and lead generation skills, Sherri exemplifies the diverse talents that converge within iIrish. Her journey from academia to the world of lead generation is a dynamic addition to the team, one that helps expand iIrish’s reach and ever growing connection with a broader audience interested in Irish entertainment, history and culture.
