Raidió Rí-Rá Open New Studio for Galway Broadcasters
Raidió Rí-Rá is excited to announce the opening of their new Galway studio in Áras na nGael this week. This new recording and podcasting space will provide new and young presenters to broadcast with Raidió Rí-Rá from the heart of Galway City. The new studio was developed with funding from the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, and Sport.
Barbara Nic Dhonnacha, Galway Bay FM, will launch the space, and local groups, students of Galway University, broadcasters and anyone else with an interest in broadcasting with Raidió Rí-Rá will be welcomed for an evening of workshops, talks and information about the plans for the space and the development of Raidió Rí-Rá. As part of the launch, Na Seansálaithe will host a live podcast with special guests, and there will be refreshments available for the audience.
Raidió Rí-Rá is a chart station for young people, providing a pop music service through Irish online at rrr.ie. It is their long-term goal to broadcast at a national level on FM in the future, and as part of this campaign, Raidió Rí-Rá will be broadcasting live on FM in cities around the country during Seachtain na Gaeilge 2023. The station will be available on FM radio in Dublin (105.2fm), Cork (106.7fm), Limerick (105.5fm), and in Galway (87.7fm), as well as on rrr.ie and on the Raidió Rí-Rá app on Apple and Android.
Raidió Rí-Rá Chairperson, Traic Ó Braonáin “We would like to thank the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, and Sport for their support in this development opportunity and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland for the opportunity to broadcast on FM during Seachtain na Gaeilge. The station is ready to take the next step to provide quality shows and content to young people at a national level on a full-time basis on FM and other platforms.”
Raidió Rí-Rá Station Manager Emma Ní Chearúil: “It is brilliant to be able to offer this opportunity to broadcast with a national station to a new group of young people by opening a studio in a new city. We hope many opportunities, friendships, events, podcasts, and radio shows will develop in this space.”
Raidió Rí-Rá’s new studio is situated upstairs in Áras na nGael, 45 Sráid Dhoiminic. Further information regarding broadcasting with Rí-Rá and using the space available from [email protected] or [email protected].
