Who’s Your Daddy? (Part 3)
When I started writing about the Founding Fathers, I never thought it was going to take three parts! I do not know why I am surprised, I should have known that there is a lot to say about the people who helped start an entirely new country! There are even more people that contributed to the early beginnings of the United States. I have only highlighted four of them, the last being Alexander Hamilton. There are a million more stories about hundreds of more people who made the United States a country that has been admired worldwide.
Alexander Hamilton
Alexander Hamilton was born on January 11, 1755, in the West Indies. He was a revolutionary thinker and a founding father, who played important roles in shaping the early economic structure (all things having to do with money) and governmental framework of the United States. He was the first Secretary of the Treasury. He was the person who designed the nation’s financial system, established the federal bank, and fought for a strong central government to unify the newly independent states. His vision laid the groundwork for America’s economic expansion and established the dollar as the backbone of the national economy.
Hamilton was also a key author of the Federalist Papers, a series of essays written to support the ratification (approval) of the U.S. Constitution. His persuasive writings helped secure the Constitution’s adoption, which provided a strong structure for the nation. Hamilton’s advocacy (support) for a strong executive branch and his formation of the Federalist Party cemented his legacy as a powerful voice in the early political arena of the United States.
Despite his significant contributions, Hamilton’s career was marked by controversy, including fierce political rivalries (enemies) and personal scandals. His outspoken nature and unwavering commitment to his ideals often put him at odds with other founding fathers. Yet, it was this same tenacity (support) that propelled him to be a driving force in the establishment of the United States as a prosperous and independent nation.

Who Were the Founding Fathers of the Republic of Ireland?
Padraig Pearse
The Republic of Ireland’s journey to independence was a difficult process that involved many important figures. Padraig Pearse was an Irish teacher, barrister, poet, writer, nationalist, republican political activist, and revolutionary. He was one of many who played a significant role in the Easter Rising of 1916, which aimed to start an independent Irish republic (country). Ireland had been under British rule. Pearse was one of the leaders of this rebellion. He was executed for his role in the Easter Rising and became a symbol of the uprising’s spirit and ideals. His influence went beyond politics and his commitment to Irish independence and revival left a lasting impact on Irish history and its identity.
The Irish Free State began in 1922 following the Anglo-Irish Treaty, and in 1949, the Republic of Ireland was officially declared.
