The Historic Gateway Neighborhood Corporation is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated summer 2024 Guided Tours series, including five new and expanded tours of some of Cleveland’s most beloved historic neighborhoods and spaces.

“We’re so excited for this season’s lineup of tours. You’ll see we’ve infused the schedule with several new tours chosen in part from 2023 guests’ feedback.  There are also new historical portrayals by actors on many tours this year. For example, Aretha Franklin will be portrayed on Cleveland’s North Coast tour at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame stop,” said Eileen Cassidy, Managing Director at HGNC.

Celebrating its sixteenth year, Take A Hike® Guided Tours offer history buffs two unique series of tours taking place seven days a week throughout the summer. The first series will kick off June 1st and run through July 31st, featuring new tours of Little Italy and Monumental Part 1.

Pamela Dorazio Dean, Museum Director at IAMCLE stated, “We are excited to partner with Take A Hike® to offer tours of the historic Little Italy neighborhood.  Take A Hike® has developed a strong reputation over the years and does a great job of highlighting the history of various areas of Cleveland.  I believe these new tours will help people develop a greater understanding of the nearly 150 years of Little Italy history and the positive contributions Italian Americans have made to the city and region.”

Take A Hike® will then kick off its second summer series, taking place August 1st through September 30th, including new and expanded tours of Erie Street Cemetery, AsiaTown, Historic Euclid Avenue, and Monumental Part 2. Each unique Guided Tour will highlight historical Clevelanders, portrayed by actors, who will share their stories and impact in shaping our city.

All tours – which are free and open to the public – are no more than two miles, and are approximately 90 minutes, with the exception of Friday lunchtime tours taking place from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Due to the popularity of the summer Guided Tours, pre-registration is highly encouraged.

In addition to its regularly scheduled summer series, Take A Hike® is proud to partner with Cuyahoga County to offer tours of the iconic Veteran’s Memorial Bridge. These special event tours will take place on the second Sundays from June through September, with each date having four tour start times beginning every thirty minutes from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, but due to limited spacing, registration is required.
