Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Appeal:
Stand Up Against Injustice by the British Government
Throughout our history, members of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians (LAOH) have taken stands to assisted those in need. We take to heart the statement from Pope Paul VI “If you want peace, work for justice.” The United States was instrumental in the Good Friday Agreement. The Good Friday Agreement was ratified by the people of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland on May 22, 1998. The British Government is placing this Agreement in jeopardy against the will of the people with a Bill to be presented this Tuesday May 24 that will halt the process of families to find the truth and receive justice on the deaths of their love ones murdered some over 50 years ago.
The Leadership of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians under the direction of National President Karen Keane is urging all Irish Americans and those interested in Justice to stand with us in speaking out against the Amnesty Bill to be presented to Parliament this Tuesday May 24. Many of the family members will be traveling on the Justice Bus to protest this Bill at Westminster.
The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians are urging all those interested in protecting the right of truth and justice to join at British Consulates throughout the United States in support of the families #NeverGivingUp. British Consulates are in the following cities: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco and Washington. Also please send letters against this Bill to the British Ambassador to the United State Karen Pierce DCMG at British Embassy Washington 3100 Massachusetts Ave. NW Washington DC 20008
